Floyd Hasselriis, P.E., DEE, Ph.D.

Dr. Hasselriis has over thirty years of professional experience in waste recycling, processing, and destruction with a focus on emission controls and environmental impact.  

A Registered Professional Engineer, Marine Engineer (First Assistant), and Diplomate in Environmental Engineering, Dr. Hasselriis is a Past President of the ASME Solid Waste Processing Division, and Past Chair and Member Emeritus of the ASME Research Committee on Industrial and Municipal Waste.   In addition, he was the recipient of the “Distinguished Service Award” by the ASME Solid Waste Processing Division, the “Father of Waste Management” Award by the Mayor of the City of Cebu, and the “ASME/IT3 Thermal Treatment Technology Pioneer” Award.  He is also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Air and Waste Management Association, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.  In addition, he was a lecturer at the Seminar on Waste Management, Asian Environmental Resource Center, Cebu, Philippines, and the Seminar on Waste Management Hong Kong.  Dr. Hasselriis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University, a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware, and an Honorary PhD from Senior University, Cebu, Philippines.
