Expertise: Irrigation, Water Supply, Basin Planning, Hydroelectricity Professional Profile Mr. Sobrino is a Water Resources Engineer with more than 30 years of experience. He has managed and participated in all phases of irrigation, water supply, basin planning and hydroelectric projects in over 25 countries, worldwide. Many of these projects were funded by international organizations, such as UNDP, IBRD/IDA (World Bank), USAID, IFAD, OAS, IADB, OPEC, CAF, and USTDA. In addition, Mr. Sobrino has extensive US Domestic experience with water and power utilities, government agencies and private developers. A registered Professional Engineer, Mr. Sobrino is a member of The US Committee on Irrigation, Drainage and Flood Control, The US Society on Dams, and a Life member of The American Society of Civil Engineers. Mr. Sobrino attended the University of Peru where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Water Resources. He was also the recipient of the Peace Messenger Award, accepted on behalf of the US Committee on Irrigation, Drainage and Flood Control.
